When is the Benchmark Assessment administered?
The assessment is automatically segmented into three benchmark periods, determined by the school or district's start date. These periods are designated as the beginning of the year, 30% into the year, and 60% into the year. For instance, in a school with an August-to-May calendar, the first benchmark period runs from August to October, the second from November to January, and the third from February to April. Additionally, a fourth Full Benchmark test will be automatically initiated 30 days before the end of the school year, providing schools with a crucial end-of-year data point. Important: this fourth benchmark will replace the third data point in reporting.
What assessments are administered during benchmark testing?
The flow chart below illustrates the different testing pathways. Each student's actual grade level primarily determines the sequence of assessments. Notably, students in grades K and 1 follow a distinct path compared to those in grades 2+.
