Action Center
The Action Page is your central hub for managing student assignments, reviewing work, and tracking progress. This guide explains how to navigate your workflow, grade assignments, and customize your view to fit your classroom needs.

Navigating Your Workflow Lists

The Action Page organizes tasks into four distinct sections to help you prioritize your time.

  1. Required: This section lists outstanding tasks that require your immediate attention, sorted with the newest items at the top.
  2. Optional: These are tasks that are available but not critical. Like the Required list, the newest items appear at the top.
  3. Pending: This area shows assignments that are currently in progress or have future due dates. It is sorted by the nearest due date.
  4. Completed: This serves as your record of history. It initially shows the 7 most recent items, but you can click "See more" to load older items.

Note: If you have no tasks in a specific section (such as Optional or Pending), that section will automatically hide or display a friendly illustration indicating you are all caught up.

Managing & Customizing Tasks

You have control over how tasks are categorized. By clicking the Settings button in the header, you can open the Action Settings dialog.

  • Drag-and-Drop Organization: You can drag action categories between three sections: Required, Optional, and Ignore to suit your workflow.
  • Tooltips: If you aren't sure what a category means, hover over the section title or the "i" icon for a helpful tooltip.

Creating Assignments

To create a new task, click the primary "+" button in the header. This opens the Global Actions menu, where you can:

  • Assign Assessment: This opens an overlay that allows you to create new assignments for students.

Searching and Filtering

You can quickly find specific assignments using the search bar at the top of the list.

  • Smart Search: As you type, the list filters in real-time. You can search by student name, content title, date, or context (e.g., "Struggled with").
  • Quick Filters: Click the suggestion badges (such as Review, Book, Assessment, or Past Due) to instantly fill the search bar and filter your list.

Reviewing & Grading Student Work

When you select an action item labeled Review, it opens the Action Content Panel, where you can evaluate student performance.

The Grading Panel

  • Scoring Slider: Use the four-point slider to grade the work: Beginning, Developing, Proficient, or Advanced.
