Guide to Library Settings
This article explains how to navigate the Personalized Library, including managing settings and controlling the visibility of materials.

Library Filters

Library books can be filtered by category, author, genre, subject, and series. Additionally, they can be sorted by Lexile® level, grade level, fiction or non-fiction, and language preference, offering selections in both English and Spanish.

Book Settings

Using the More Actions tab, the teacher can view the book's cloze questions and hide or assign the book to students.

Library Settings

Administrators and program managers can hide books from students, assign them to a select group, or assign them to an entire class. There are two settings:

Coach-Managed: Students have access to all age-appropriate texts, and teachers can hide specific texts as needed. When a teacher hides a book, it is hidden from all students in the classes to which they are assigned. District administrators can also remove books that are Coach-Managed.

*When a teacher hides a book, it is hidden from all students in the classes to which they are assigned.

District-Managed: The library is enabled, but all of the content is removed until the district administrator adds books to it. The overlay for the admin will read "Removed from Library." All other access types (teachers, students, etc.) will not see that the books have been removed. Only books allowed by the district administrator are visible. Teachers can hide/unhide the books that are visible in the district library.

The Coach still sets the Lexile. When District-Managed mode is active, the district administrator determines what books are in the library, but once books are added, they will be recommended and filtered during power text time in the same way they are when the Coach manages the library.

Reading Modes

Additional reading modes can be customized for classes and individual students through the Rostering tab.

  1. Alternating: Students alternate between Free Text and Power Text.
  2. Free Text: Students can read books outside of their Lexile® zone.
  3. Power Text: Students can only read books in their Lexile® zone.

Spanish Language Support

You can easily toggle Spanish content on or off to provide students with books, supports, and assessment directions in Spanish when needed. Toggle settings include:
